A Task Force on Spaghetti Wires is created through Executive Order 003 by Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez directing those involved to remove, clear, and recognize entangled and messy wires located in identified locations and public places that poses danger to the general public.
TF on Spaghetti Wires will be led by the City Mayor with members including Sangguniang Panlungsod Chairperson of the Committee on Laws, City Engineer’s Office, City Legal Officer, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) representative, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), Department of Public Services (DPS) and representatives from the different telecoms, cable companies and Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO).
The task force will implement the laws pertaining to poles and distribution lines provided by the Electrical Code and the National Building Code; gather, review, and address all reports and complaints related to any cables, wires, and poles etc.; a coordinated action plan to address the complaints; come up with recommendations and propose resolutions to strengthen and improve the current policies.
Moreover, the task force may also ask the support of the executive branch to assist in the discharge of its functions and also the barangays. Budget for its activities shall likewise be taken from the City Mayor’s Office, departments and offices members of the task force.*
