Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Friday expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Filipino people for their trust in him and their approval of his performance as a lawmaker and the top leader of the House of Representatives, a press release from the House of Representatives said.
“I am deeply thankful to our people for this gesture, which will inspire us to continue to work hard and even work harder for them. Thank you for your trust and for your approval of the work we do,” Romualdez said.
The leader of the 300-plus-strong House made the commitment in reaction to the latest OCTA Research quarterly survey showing that majority of Filipinos trust him and approve of his performance.
According to the September Tugon ng Masa survey of OCTA Research, Speaker Romualdez had an overall trust rating of 61 percent.
He had 58 percent trust in the National Capital Region (NCR), 68 percent in Balance of Luzon (BL), 62 percent in Visayas, and 48 percent in Mindanao.
Among economic groups, he had 64 percent in ABC, 61 percent in D, and 59 percent in E.
The House leader’s overall performance mark was 62 percent, with 61 percent in NCR, 68 percent in BL, 66 percent in Visayas, and 45 percent in Mindanao.
Some 66 percent of people in ABC classes, 62 percent in D, and 59 percent in E were satisfied with his work.
“Our collaborative efforts are starting to bear fruit. Proof of this is that inflation, or the increase in consumer prices, has been falling. We will continue to help President Marcos to keep it down to ease the burden on our people, especially the poor,” Romualdez stated.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, inflation in September slowed to 1.9 percent from 3.3 percent in August and 4.4 percent in July.
The September rate was the lowest in four years.*
