Sugarsmiles Philippines Management Inc. (SPMI), a Negrense-owned publishing company, recently launched the latest issue of MagBoracay – a travel and lifestyle magazine focusing on the beach capital of the Philippines.
The sunset event was held at Astoria Current, a top-rated hotel located at Station 3 in front of Boracay’s world-famous White Beach. Owned by Astoria Hotels and Resorts (AHR), the four-star hotel has more than 200 rooms, two swimming pools, a spa, a gym, two conference halls, and three dining outlets.
According to a press release, SPMI is a multimedia and marketing communications group that specializes in the publication of coffee-table books and tourist-oriented magazines, as well as in events management and digital platforms development. MagBoracay is an SPMI publication that captures the vibrant Boracay life through the words of local writers and the artistic skills of Aklan-based illustrators.
Aside from Astoria Current, AHR also operates another resort at the more relaxed side of Station 1. Known as Astoria Boracay, it has a total of 71 rooms, an expansive pool, a rejuvenating spa, two function rooms, and a dining outlet called White Café.*
