It will be a star-studded, jam-packed, and historic comeback of the face-to-face Kadalag-an Festival for Victorias City in Negros Occidental, as it marks its 25th Charter Day, from March 17 to 23.

After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city of Victorias is staging a grandest comeback, with famous musical bands, movie stars, and beauty queens, forming part of the celebrations.

In a press briefing, Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez yesterday confirmed that Sara Geronimo and her husband, Matteo Guidicelli, Daniel Matsunaga, Kylie Verzosa, Marco Gumabao, Billie Hakenson, famous bands, such as December Avenue, Brownman Revival, and Cali, comedians Ian Red and Boobsie Wonderland, and Noven Belleza, are among the entertainers lined up for Victoriahanons and their guests.

This year’s festivity is not only a celebration of its silver anniversary, but it will also be its epic and grandest comeback after the global health crisis.

COVID-19 may have toned down the fun of this season, but this year Victorias won’t hold back in bringing back a more electrifying festive feeling to every Victoriahanon, a press statement from the City Public Information Office said.

It will be a different festival, compared to previous years, we introduced something new, such as the “Glowing in the Dark Fun Run” on the evening of March 17, where participants must wear glowing paints, or lights, in the 3K and 5K run, Benitez said.

They will also be holding Palarong Pinoy classic games, among other activities, he added.

The search for the Kadalag-an Queen is slated on April 18 at the Victorias City Coliseum, where Sarah Geronimo and her husband, Verzosa and Gumabao, will entertain guests during the pageant night.

The city government of Victorias City will also honor and give recognition to Sidlak Malihaw awardees, on March 20.

Also invited are some national government officials.

The 25th Kadalag an Festival will bring many wonderful treats to people of all ages and walks in life, its organizer said.*
