STI WNU co-hosts international research conference

STI WNU Graduates and School of Graduate Studies faculty spearhead by Director for External Affairs and Linkages Ma. Theresa Asistido in the university boardroom where they shared their respective studies in various fields to participants of the National and International Research Conference*

STI West Negros University co-hosted the 9th Virtual National and International Research Conference with Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) in Thailand via Zoom, yesterday.

The conference with the perennial theme “Research to Serve Society,” was participated in by presenters and audience from Thailand, Indonesia and China.

Seven faculty researchers presented articles along their fields of specialization. Dr. Jake Laurence Mercado presented his paper on School-based Management: Commitment, Compliance, and Challenges, while Dr. Bryan Tirol, his paper entitled The Effects of Inquiry-based Approach on Pupils’ Performance and Motivation in Science.

Dr. Lyka Garcia presented her study on the Implementation of Control Program in COVID-19 Management in a District Hospital in Negros Occidental, Dr. Monijean Espeleta on the Effects of Group Chat on Learners’ English Proficiency, and Dr. Danilo Sumbi on Teachers’ Awareness and Effectiveness in Values Integration Program in a High School in Negros Occidental.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cherry Praico took her turn to present her research article on Teachers’ Organizational Commitment and Job Satisfaction in the New Normal, and Dr. Yasmin Pascual-Dormido on her paper on Preference and Utilization of Media Channels as Communication Instruments of Local Public Administrators in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The research conference enabled the researchers to present their research findings to much wider audience.*
