Summit, Pascual Greek Style upset rival teams

Archie Moreno opened the game for Summit in an impressive fashion on both ends of the floor, scoring 12 points, leading his team to a 20-16 advantage through the first quarter. The Cobras were unable to bounce back in the second quarter as Summit extended their lead to double digits.

Summit continued their climb as they extended the lead to a huge 33 points going into the final frame. With such a discrepancy, the Cobras were not able to recover, despite outscoring Summit in the final ten minutes as Summit defeated Cobra Energy Drink 88-75.

Jet Pili led Summit with 18 points and grabbed the player of the game honors, while Malvin Pineda and Archie Moreno logged 17 and 14 points respectively. Jai Arroyo supplied 17 points to lead Cobra Energy Drink, while Michael Ang registered 16 points and Kenderson Hao collected 13.

In the other game, Tanduay had a good start to the game, leading Pascual Greek Style both quarters, 17-14 and 40-34, going into half time. Pascual’s Miguel Mosquera, who had a good second quarter performance, kept rolling in the third, alongside Harvey Eslawa and Harry Siendo to cut the deficit to only 1 point as the game went into the final frame. The trio came together again for one last push in the final minutes of the game for Pascual Greek Style to pull off a convincing 89-78 win. 

Eslawa led Pascual Greek Style with 23 points, while Mosquera tallied 21 points to go with player of the game honors, as Harry Siendo had 16 points and Michael John Calibo added 11.  Carlo Chu paced Tanduay with 17 points, followed by Genmar Zagado and Marc Jalapa who had 10 points each.*
