A suspect allegedly involved in gunrunning activities was arrested on Thursday by the police, during a buy bust operation at Hacienda Dagingding, Brgy. Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Nabbed by operatives of the police was Stephen Superal, 42, of Purok Cagaycay, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City.
Superal was tagged by the police as a member of the “Kilas Group” involved in gun running activities in the northern Negros.
The joint operations of the Criminal Investigation Detection Field Unit – Negros Occidental, Silay City police and Regional Intelligence Division 6 also led to the recovery of a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing six ammunition, P50 in marked money and P19,500 boodle money.
On the other hand, a buy bust operation at Bangga La Purisima in Brgy E. Lopez, Silay City, also led to the apprehension of John Anthony Belonio, alias Tonik.
The arrest of Belonio also yielded about eight grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P54,400 and marked money of P2,600.*
