Two people died and three others were injured in a fatal vehicular crash involving a Toyota Fortuner driven by a 17-year-old.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Gatuslao and BS Aquino Streets in Barangay 3, Bacolod City, at 4:38 a.m. yesterday.
The fatalities were confirmed by relatives as Cheralyn Poja and Redilla Gamgam, residents of Purok Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.
According to the Bacolod Traffic Enforcement Unit, the four passengers of the tricycle were reportedly on their way to the Libertad Public Market when the accident took place.
Reports stated that the sidecar of the tricycle was struck by the Toyota Fortuner, causing it to be thrown into the opposite lane.
The three injured individuals, including the tricycle driver, remain confined in a hospital and are receiving treatment.
Authorities said that the minor, who has been taken into custody at Police Station 2, could face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.*
