A mass swab testing among several Love Negros members, will be conducted on September 23 at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental, after two of its affiliated mayors tested positive for COVID-19.

Submitting themselves to swab testing are Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Reps. Jose Francisco Benitez and Stephen Joseph Paduano, former Rep. Alfredo Benitez, 12 mayors and several board members who also affiliated with Love Negros.

This was after Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro Zayco and Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares, who attended the Love Negros fellowship meeting on September 18 tested positive for the virus.

Provincial Inter Agency Task Force action officer, Rayfrando Diaz, who is also the Provincial Government Administrator, yesterday said that he will be also submitting himself to swab testing.

Lizares raised the possibility that he was infected with the virus at a department meeting.

The implementation of skeleton workforce at the Talisay City Hall took effect September 22 until September 23, as ordered by Lizares.

For disinfection purposes, the City Hall will be temporarily closed on September 24, Lizares said.

Mayor Irene Montilla also ordered the cancellation of several activities in Isabela, Negros Occidental, with the rising of COVID-19 active cases in the town, starting September 20 to October 3, including distribution of elementary and high school modules, restriction of social gatherings and face to face worship services (virtual only), as well as limitation to five persons at a time in remittance centers or commercial establishments.*
