In a tournament marked by grit, poise, and high-level competition, Sydmond Vista of STAI-Timber Pro emerged victorious in the prestigious 2025 Pasig Bowling Association Open Masters event, clinching the title and bringing pride to the Bacolod-based Sugarbowl Tenpin Association Inc. (STAI).
Vista, the lone STAI representative in the tournament, showcased remarkable consistency throughout the Masters event. After a nail-biting qualifying round, he secured the 5th and final spot for the quarterfinals, edging into the semifinals by a razor-thin margin of just one pin. From there, the young bowler delivered a stellar performance under pressure—culminating in a spectacular finish to capture the championship.
The tournament was witnessed by some of the most respected names in Philippine bowling, including Philippine Sports Commissioner Bong Coo, PBF President and Timber Pro team principal Jingky “Jingay” Facuri, and PBF Secretary General Gina Avecilla, which added prestige and national relevance to Vista’s triumph.
What made the feat even more special was Vista’s head-to-head battle with many of the country’s top-tier national bowlers. His calm composure and competitive spirit shone through as he defied the odds and etched his name among the elite, bringing home the crown for Team STAI–Timber Pro.
This victory not only highlights a personal milestone for Vista, but also marks a significant moment for STAI youth bowling—proving that with discipline and determination, local grassroots talent can rise to compete at the highest levels of the sport.*
