Mayor Neil Lizares announced last night that starting today, the new Talisay City Hall will be temporarily closed for thorough disinfection and will reopen on Monday.

He said the move was in response to the news that a Bacolod resident, who tested positive for COVID-19, recently processed a business permit at the New City Hall.

“I would like to assure the Talisaynons who recently had transactions at the New City Hall that our employees are compliant with our safety protocols to the best of their ability. Thus, it is highly improbable for the patient to have infected other clients,” Lizares said.

Even before clients enter the New City Hall, strict health protocols are implemented, most importantly the wearing of masks, he said.

The body temperature of the client is also checked and the client is denied entry if his or her body temperature does not fall within what is normal, Lizares added.

“Our employees also make sure that each and every client’s hands are disinfected by spraying ample amount of alcohol. Inside the New City Hall, and strict physical distancing is observed in every office,” he said.*
