The City of Talisay Economic Development and Investment and Promotions Office recently had a productive meeting on the development of coastlines that will center on the city’s abundant coastal resources, with members of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and Provincial Environment Management Office, at the Mayor’s Conference room.
The objective of the initiative is to introduce practices that will increase marine product catch and improve market value. MBCCI, in partnership with the City of Talisay, will start the project in the coastal Barangay Zone 3 (Catabla) as it begins its environmental assessment, laying the groundwork for future developments, a press release from Talisay PIO said.
The discussion highlighted a reassuring collaboration as they explored strategic growth opportunities, particularly within the local crab industry. The development plan will serve as a blueprint for future coastal growth and ensure that the City remains dynamic in attending to all sectors and industries for every Talisaynon.
The press release adds that the collaborative effort aims to transform Talisay’s coastal areas into a vibrant hub of economic activity, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.*
