The City of Talisay successfully hosted the DigiWork Expo 2025 at Carlos Hilado Memorial State University on September 19, bringing together leaders from government, academe, and industry under the theme “Digital Jobs, Digital Skills, Digital Inclusion,” a press release from Talisay PIO said.
The one-day event featured keynote messages from Talisay City Mayor Maria Rowena Guadalupe Lopez-Lizares, Rep. Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez of the 3rd District of Negros Occidental, and Philippine ICT Innovation Network convenor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, among others.
Lizares underscored the city’s commitment, stating, “DigiWork Expo 2025 is more than an event—it is our platform to empower students, workers, and entrepreneurs to seize opportunities in the digital economy.”
The DigiWork Expo 2025 in Talisay City gathered a remarkable turnout of stakeholders in shaping the future of the digital workforce. The event drew an impressive audience of over 1,300 senior high school students from 10 participating schools, highlighting the strong support for advancing digital skills and opportunities for the youth.
The program featured 13 panel speakers and four moderators who are recognized industry experts, sharing valuable insights on digital jobs, skills, and inclusion. Their expertise enriched the discussions and inspired participants to embrace the evolving landscape of the digital economy.
Adding to the experience, the expo showcased 12 exhibitors from national government agencies, academic Institutions, and ICT companies, giving participants hands-on exposure to innovations, career pathways, and digital opportunities.
The event was a collaborative effort of the Talisay LGU, the Philippine ICT Innovation Network (PIIN), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU), reflecting the shared vision of government, academe, and industry in preparing the youth for a future-ready workforce.
