Talisay honors outstanding taxpayers, residents

The Talisay City government honored and gave recognition on Wednesday outstanding Talisaynons, taxpayers and partners in public service during the Pasidungog awarding rites, in line with its 28th charter anniversary.

Honored as outstanding Talisaynons were Kevin Parkinson for Volunteer Emergency Service, Michael Edward Claparols for Social Entrepreneurship, and Jay Ralph Zapata for Emerging Business.

The outstanding taxpayers (corporate category) were Ayala Land Incorporated, First Farmers Milling and Marketing, Filinvest Land Incorporated, MBL Realty and Development Corporation, and Suntrust Properties Inc.;

Melchor Camon m/t (married to) Gloria Lacson, Carlos S. Lacson m/t Aida Paterno, Emilio Camon, Leo Rey Yanson m/t Pia Yanson, and Estate of Lourdes Osmena for the individual category.

Special citations were also given to Kate dela Cruz for having ranked number 2 in Radiologic Technologists Licensure  Examination (December 2025) and Elizer John Segayo, who ranked number 7 in Master Plumbers Licensure Examination (February 2025).

In her speech, Mayor Rowena “Weng” Lopez-Lizares said the milestone achievements of Talisay City are the results of unity and cooperation among citizens and government entities.

Lizares also thanked Talisay City taxpayers, whom she described as partners in progress, for their honesty and faith in the local government unit.

“Your contribution has sustained public service and foster development,” the mayor told the outstanding taxpayers.

As to the outstanding Talisaynons, Lizares said “you remind us that excellence lives among us”.

“Your service, compassion and commitment, inspire communities and gives pride to our identity as Talisaynons”, she stressed.

The mayor further said that Talisaynons is also proud of having Parkinson, as a partner in public service.

Parkinson, a British national, who married a Talisaynon, taught disaster preparedness among volunteers, helping them become rescuers and emergency responders.*
