Talisay Mayor Neil Lizares led the 2024 Christmas Tree lights-on ceremony at the Talisay Plaza on Friday.
“Tonight, we gather here in the heart of Talisay to celebrate the spirit of joy, hope, and togetherness as we officially welcome the Christmas season. This annual lights-on ceremony is more than just illuminating our beloved plaza; it is a symbol of the light that shines within us as a community—our unity, resilience, and generosity,” Lizares said.
Christmas is a time to reflect on the blessings of the year, to cherish moments with loved ones, and to extend kindness to those in need. As we light up the plaza, may it remind us to also light up each other’s lives with love, compassion, and peace, he said.
Let us take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this beautiful event possible, from the local government, the parish, the volunteers, and the sponsors to every family gathered here tonight. Together, you make Talisay shine brighter, Lizares said.
Now, as the countdown begins, let us celebrate the start of this festive season with joy in our hearts and smiles on our faces. May the lights we illuminate tonight inspire us all to carry the spirit of Christmas into our homes, our streets, and our lives, he added.*
