The game between Tanduay Ice and Tiger Black saw the former start in an impressive fashion on both ends of the floor, leading to a 21-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter. However, Tiger Black were able to bounce back in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to just two points.
Tanduay Ice rose to the occasion, courtesy of Marc Jalapa pouring in 13 points in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to double digits going into the final frame, 65-53. The final period would be a formality as they added another twelve points to their edge on the way to the easy 92-68 victory.
Jalapa led the Tanduay Ice with 22 points, along with player of the game honors. Yanyan Muyco followed with 18, while Margui Macainan and Alton Muyco tallied 16 and 13 points, respectively. Arvin Espinitra led Tiger Black with a game high 24 points, followed by Rine Miag-ao with 14 and Beejay Paredes recorded 10.
The other game between Absolute and Pascual Greek Style was a competitive contest as the teams traded buckets throughout the first quarter ending with the former leading by four points. The Greeks were able to outscore the Absolute in the second frame to enter halftime trailing by only a point, 47-46.
After the half, Matt Deles and Doc Emil Guanzon took over to score a combined 15 points and extend their lead to 8 points, heading into the final 10 minutes. The pair continued their onslaught in the fourth with the Doc adding four from behind the arc while Deles tallied 15 more points more as the Greeks suffered another devastating loss in a 116-91 game.
Deles finished the game with 31 points for Absolute and grabbed the player of the game honors. Guanzon scored 22 while Ronald Delada and Doc Judah Gozar had 10 points each. Miguel Mosquera led Pascual Greek Style with 18 points, Michael Venegas and Carl Ginere contributed 17 apiece, while Harry SIendo tallied 16 points.*
