The Canberra Buglas Region Soccer Society girls Under 17 bowed down to Tanjay City Football Club after a nil-nil semifinal game that went on to a penalty shootout and ended in a 3-1 scoreline.
The winning team went on to be the champion after defeating Leon Kilat FC last August 30 during the 2nd Corbo Invitational Soccer Cup held at Ang Tay Golf and Country Club, Dumaguete City.
CBR had an excellent 5-0-0 record, faced heavy rains during the final elimination game, as water spots on the pitch hindered their passing game and long shots ended up hitting the woodwork.
The team is composed of Jhayne Elainne Dalogdog, Claudia Elise Montinola, Renee Gavriel Animathea Lomugdang, Shanel Dominique Molequin, Kelsy Skye Anub, Nathalie Rhaine Andres, Yannah Marie Amar, Angel Nicole Segovia, Chloe Belisse Pasana, Hushlee Lhannia De Larrazabal, Marinel Gonzales, Ysabel Anara Yasay, Maxene Dominique Sison, and Lize Ibañez.
It is also powered by Gardenville United Football Club Inc.; Filipino Canberra Community; GoTyme Bank; and Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions. The Canberra Buglas Region is headed by coaches Earl Bona, Ron Molequin, Beatrize Semillano, Red Yasay, and technical director Jiff Lomugdang.*
