The Task Force Disiplina has apprehended 116 violators of health protocols in Bacolod City since it started operations Saturday to help contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Wilfredo Geolingo, task force action officer, yesterday said the violators are from barangays in the city who violated City Ordinance No. 926, or the “Face Mask and Social Distancing Ordinance of Bacolod City”, authored by Councilor Archie Baribar.
Geolingo said they also apprehended passengers of double tire buses at the Libertad terminal for violating the social distancing protocol. These buses ply the Mambukal-Bacolod, La Carlota-Bacolod, and Murcia-Bacolod routes.
On their first day of operation, the task force apprehended 33 violators, he said.
Bacolod Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, task force chairman and head of the city’s Inter-Agency Task Force against Covid-19, said that about 95 percent of the violators, who were apprehended and issued citation tickets, are from Bacolod.*
