A public school teacher and two others were killed in a road crash around 1:20 a.m. yesterday along the Provincial Road of Hacienda Alipion, Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
Killed were alias ‘Yoyong’ from Barangay Cabagna-an and his back rider alias “Itsoy,” who were onboard a Rusi motorcycle. The other fatality was Vicente Mission II, 46, a public school teacher from Zone 3, Barangay Tinongan, Isabela town, who was riding a Kawasaki Fury motorcycle.
Initial police investigation revealed that the Rusi motorcycle was traveling from Isabela towards La Castellana when it was struck head-on by the Kawasaki Fury motorcycle, which was heading in the opposite direction.
According to authorities, it was observed that “Yoyong” appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He reportedly collided with the oncoming Kawasaki Fury, resulting in a severe head-on collision. Both drivers and the passenger sustained critical injuries.
PMaj. Romulo Gepilango V, Officer-in-Charge of La Castellana Municipal Police Station, confirmed that all three victims were rushed to the nearest hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
The motorcycles involved have been brought to the station for proper disposition.*
