Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Adrian Villaflor has filed a complaint on May 6 against a teacher, before the Commission on Elections, allegedly for engaging in partisan political activities, which is a violation of the Omnibus Election Code.
The respondent, whose identity was withheld, serves as a teacher of the Magallon Cadre Elementary School in Moises Padilla town, and is assigned as a chairman of the Board of Election Inspectors for the May 12 polls.
In his affidavit complaint, Villaflor alleged that the respondent accompanied reelectionist Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo on her campaign trail and caucuses in different barangays of Moises Padilla.
A challenger of Garcia-Yulo in the mayoral race, Villaflor further claimed that the respondent joined political meetings with coordinators and family leaders of his opponent.
The complaint of Villaflor, which was submitted to Comelec and CSC, was backed up with evidence and photographs.
The provincial Comelec office has yet to give its reaction on the complaint against the teacher filed by Villafor, a former running mate of Garcia-Yulo during the 2019 and 2022 elections.
Villaflor added that he filed similar complaints against the teacher before the Department of Education and the Civil Service Commission.*
