Bacolod Councilor Renecito Novero yesterday thanked all teachers for their contribution to education as “molders of the mind”, during the celebration of World Teacher’s Day yesterday.
In his message to the teachers, Novero, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Education, said he considered them “special and precious” being the most indispensable and the most powerful among the mortal beings of the world.
“And these are all so because you are molders of the mind, and he who molds the mind builds the future and designs the world,” he said.
For all that is done and made in this material world starts in the mind. A though provokes an action. An action weaves a habit. A habit formulates the character. And character creates destiny, Novero said.
“This truth should both caution and inspire you, my dear teacher. For in your hands rests the future of our children. And our children rest the future of our world,” he added.*
