Tearful perfect wedding

Wearing the same shoes I wore to my wedding, I attended the second day of the nuptial celebrations of Owen and Maxine Prunskis. This was going to be their wedding ceremony. So, I wanted to give all the love I had for my defunct spouse – 47 years of love and destiny, what a trip it was.

That day, we were led into a sunken garden of the chateau with 250 all-white chairs lined up in a semicircle with a little platform in front for the ceremony. With a grand entrance of the bride to the waiting groom, blessings recited in ancient Lithuanian, Hebrew, classmates’ best wishes and then… Mme. le Dr. Terri Dallas Prunskis offered a prayer for the groom.

That’s when my tears started flowing! Here was an accomplished woman praying for her son’s well being in ALL situations, protection for him from the community that surrounds him. Statuesque and elegantly USA, she went on for a good fifteen minutes and for every minute touched my heart to the core. Love of a mother is the best prayer.

Well, as everyone got more intimate as the night went on, all agreed that tears flowed, literally, from this LOVE. It manifested itself on the fraternity of all who came from all parts of the world to share this special moment. I had the pleasure of sharing a table with a Philippine heiress of our iconic Goldilocks brand already franchised in the US, statuesquely exotic and bright Lara Ortiz Luis.

The dinner was ignored after the first course of raviolis de foie gras aux truffes, sauce suprême topped w arugula salad. Troubadours were circulating around the two giant banquet halls, setting the mood of the party. Dancing spontaneously sparked from end to end. When the main course arrived later, almost everyone were already on the tables dancing.

I went out for some air and met this good looking blond Tarzan called Cougar Oswald whose Mom was a real hippie. On the pretext of asking about my eyeglasses, a lively conversation ignited my night with the young and beautiful friends of the newlyweds curious about the Pinoy who looked like Karl. But the talk all night was how tears flowed from meanings and epiphanies everyone absorbed in that occasion. Not all weddings are like that, believe me!

MY PRAYER

Keep us so fully alive that our lives reflect all the goodness we are allowed to experience and we overcome all the evil which tries to attack us.*
