The Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUPV) is hosting Technology Convention 2023, setting its vision for an innovative and sustainable agricultural sector, on March 3 at the TUPV Gym, Talisay City.

The TUPV Technology Convention 2023, with the theme “Sustainable and Progressive Technological Innovations in Agriculture,” is a result of the convergence of different government agencies such as local government units, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VI, DOST- ASTI (Advanced Science and Technology Institute), DOST-PTRI (Philippine Textile Research Institute), legislators, industry frontrunners and prime movers and academic leaders, among others.

This year’s activity is organized in an effort to accelerate the local agricultural industry while ensuring environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

Expected to attend the event include Cong. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, 3rd District Representative of Negros Occidental and Mayor Nilo Jesus Antonio Lizares of the City of Talisay, with Ramon Uy, proprietor of R.U. Foundry and Machine Corporation, DOST Region VI Director Engr. Rowen Gelonga, and farmers from various farmers’ association in Negros.

The convention will kick off with the opening program in the morning with exhibits showing technological breakthroughs in the agricultural industry, and a forum in the afternoon.

The first ever Technology Convention was conducted in 2019 in collaboration with the VTI/TUPV Alumni Association.*
