Separate stabbing and shooting incidents in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, claimed the lives of a teenager and a motorcycle driver on August 18 and 19, respectively, with the perpetrators yet to be identified by the police.
A Grade 12 student, whose identity was withheld by the police, was declared dead on arrival at a clinic at a medical clinic in Hinigaran town, on Sunday.
The 17-year-old victim succumbed to multiple wounds after he was stabbed by a still unidentified suspect in Barangay 4, Hinigaran, according to initial investigations of the town’s police.
Police probers are looking into the possibility of revenge as the motive behind the stabbing incident.
The victim, according to the police, had allegedly been spreading a sex video involving a minor.
The following day, a motorcycle driver was shot by an unidentified gunman at Purok Taytay Tanulo in Brgy. Pilar, also in Hinigaran.
Police investigations indicated that the 25-year-old victim was driving a motorcycle when a still unidentified suspect shot him at the back, with the bullet exiting his chest.
The victim died on the spot, when the responding members of Hinigaran Rescue Team arrived at the crime scene.
Police probers eyed illegal drug transactions as the motive of the killing.*
