An 18-year-old newly identified drug personality was arrested in a buy-bust operation carried out by the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) on Wednesday at Hacienda Carmenchica, Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
The operation led to the arrest of alias “Inggo,” a jobless male, and a resident of 2nd Street in the barangay.
Police recovered from his possession were 9 sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 25 grams with a standard drug price of P170,000.
The operation was carried out following a tip from a confidential informant that the subject was engaged in illegal drug trade in the area. The operatives immediately conducted validation and confirmed that the subject is usually in the area.
Upon confirmation, operatives immediately conducted the buy-bust operation, apprehending the suspect who was caught in the act of illegal drugs trading.
“This successful operation once again demonstrates the firm and consistent stand of PRO NIR in its fight against illegal drugs. With every arrest and every recovery, PRO NIR sends a clear message that illegal drug activities will never be tolerated in Negros Island,” PRO-NIR said in a statement.
The confiscated drug evidence was submitted to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination while the suspect remains in the custody of Pontevedra MPS for proper legal disposition.*
