A 19-year-old drug suspect classified as a high-value individual was arrested early Sunday morning after police seized over P2.1 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 2.
The suspect, identified only by the alias ‘Nash,’ a resident of Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, was caught in a sting operation launched by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) around 2:30 a.m. on May 31.
Elements of the BCPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated approximately 320 grams of the illegal substance with an estimated standard drug price of P2,176,000.
The suspect is currently held in the custody of Police Station 2 and is facing formal charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, BCPO City Director PCol. Eugene Rebadomia reported on Saturday that the seizure of nearly P76 million worth of illegal drugs from January to May 2026 was part of its intensified anti-narcotics campaign.
A total of 269 operations, including 195 buy-busts and 62 served arrest warrants, led to the confiscation of approximately 11.17 kilograms of shabu and 117.53 grams of marijuana.
Authorities arrested 319 individuals during this five-month period, a tally that includes 235 alleged drug pushers, 82 drug users, and two minors.
Following the apprehensions, the local police department successfully filed 451 drug-related cases in court.*
