Wednesday’s games at the Fil-Sino 1st Sailun Tire Basketball Cup saw Terramax AT defeat Atrezzo SVR LX, as the former jumped out to a strong start and led the game, 23-11, after one quarter.
The SVR team turned it up in the second, managing to outscore the AT, 24-14, in the quarter to cut the lead and trail by only two points going into the break.
The AT stayed in control through the third and even managed to push their lead by up to 7 points as the game entered the final frame. The SVR LX battled back valiantly in the final ten minutes, but the AT managed to hold on at the end to earn another victory with a final score of 84-80.
Harvey Eslawa led the way for the Terramax AT with 19 points, followed by Allen Delagente and McCoy Reyes who scored 8 points apiece and shared the player of the game honors. Meanwhile, Carlo Chua and Christopher Teodosio led Atrezzo SVR LX with 12 points each and Kevin Ramos followed up with 10 points.
In the other game, Atrezzo ZSR stunned Atrezzo RO1 Sport, 95-78. The RO1 opened the game in an impressive fashion at both ends of the floor, breaking away to a 21-16 advantage through the first quarter.
However, the ZSR were able to bounce back in the second quarter, not only eliminating the deficit but even building a thirteen-point halftime lead. The back-and-forth affair continued in the third, with ZSR outscoring the Sports by two points, and after a hotly contested final period, the ZSR pulled off the win in a convincing fashion.
Brian Coo led the Atrezzo ZSR with 21 points and player of the game honors. Malvin Pineda netted 19 points, while Polo Lopingco and Jeremy Coo furnished 18 and 11 points, respectively.
Oda Tampus paced the Atrezzo RO1 Sport with 35 points, Marc Jalapa generated 9 points, and Arvin Espinitra had 8 points.*
