TESDA industry consultation at VMA

Dr. Elizabeth Salabas, president of VMA, expressed her gratitude at the Industry Consultation in the ASEAN Building of VMA’s main campus in Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City recently, a press release from VMA said.

“I extend a warm welcome to everyone in our esteemed institution. VMA has proudly stood as TESDA’s dedicated partner in delivering comprehensive skills training for over a decade. My gratitude resonates deeply, as from the inception of training regulations, a growing number of skilled individuals have not only secured employment but have also achieved remarkable success. Over the years, as our programs expanded and documentation demands increased, TESDA’s unwavering support has fortified our partnership, ensuring a promising collaboration for years ahead,” Dr. Salabas said

The event, organized by TESDA Region VI, led by Director Nina Connie Dodd, Provincial Director of TESDA NOPO, Jenie Notchite, and Eudina David from TESDA Regional Training Center-Talisay.

Salabas warmly acknowledged all participants and thanked TESDA for their initiatives in organizing activities that contribute to the growth of private and public business industries.

She appreciated vice president Dr. Carlitos Orola, president of ATINO and Vice President for VMA Technical Skills Training Center and Frank Carbon, president of MBCCI, for sharing their industry experiences and providing essential inputs.

Orola highly praised TESDA for the opportunities, emphasizing that this event marked the first time such an initiative had been planned and organized.

Dodd expressed hope that the momentum would continue, anticipating future gatherings.

The consultation covered various topics, outlining plans and activities for the next 5 years to address challenges faced by different industries, focusing on creating more training regulations, enhancing skills, increasing employment, and producing more skilled graduates and training centers in Negros.

The program saw participation from industry owners in agriculture, metalworking, and environmental sectors, along with executive officers of LGUs, reflecting a collective commitment to support TESDA’s advocacy in advancing Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) towards nation building.*
