Third World

I never thought I’d shudder at the thought. Life was marvelous. The kitchen staff would plan my day’s nourishment with such gustatory savoir-faire that my palate would be rediscovered to food that comforts. There was no need to pout because I could paddle in the pool and listen to my special French tunes.

Which leads me to where I am right now. I’m in my adopted France, a country that just made the US of A tremble enough to well, almost apologize. The recall of the ambassadors to America and Australia showed the hurt of an ally over what? A question of mishaps in an agreement for the sale of $60B more or less, to be rescinded through a fast deal amongst the UK, Australia and US of A. But that’s a lot of money which could boost the elections for a Macron-led election early next year.

And I feel the diff, Dahlinks and how! It’s not healthy living in a THIRD WORLD country. You have to accept Sino-produced vaccines because it’s the only thing available. And you worry on how to put into an EU approved app the little piece of carton given when you had your jabs because after all, you’re in an island separate from Imperial Manila where one could avail of such an international card with a QR code. I got my code in Paris inside a pop-up tent where swab tests were given for free. The young man was taken aback when I specifically asked for an orgasm when he’d administer the test. Well, in 5 minutes flat I got my negative Covid results on my phone complete w a current 3 day pass to enter bars, restaurants, museums, shops, places with a high volume of people in enclosed spaces.

No regrets to be living in a FIRST WORLD country where I could hop on a jet, sail on a boat, take a subway to Champs Elysées and look at the Arc de Triomphe wrapped up in Christo’s. Vote wisely, kids. It’s no joke being left behind… as Lady C would say, regarding the Sussex’s “thrown under the bus”. Ahhh, who can avoid royal speculations!

MY PRAYER. In prayer, we can build homes no one can take away.*
