Three more police officers in Negros Occidental tested positive for Covid-19, bringing to 46 the number of police personnel infected by the virus since March last year.
P/Lt. Abegael Donasco, deputy spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, however, said that the three police officers are all asymptomatic.
Donasco said that the results came out on April 2, following a continuing testing of PNP members, especially those in the frontlines in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 43 other police personnel have recovered from the infection and are now back to their duties.
Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Rayfrando Diaz, said yesterday that two Special Action Force troopers of the Philippine National Police are now in isolation at the Cadiz City quarantine facility.
As of April 5, the PNP Health Service said that 191 police officers had recovered from Covid-19, bringing to 13,576 the number of recoveries in the organization all over the country. Of the 16,230 confirmed cases in the police organization, 2,614 are active infections, the PNP Health Service reported.*
