The Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region yesterday honored outstanding police units and individuals for their exceptional performance and unwavering commitment to public service, during the awarding rites held at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
The awardees were Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – Best Provincial Police Office of NIR; Bacolod City Police Office – Best City Police Office; Bayawan City Police Station in Negros Oriental – Best Component City Police Station; La Castellana Police Station in Negros Occidental – Best Municipal Police Station;
Negros Occidental 2nd Mobile Force Company – Best Provincial Mobile Force Company and Bacolod City Mobile Force Company – Best City Mobile Force Company.
PCMS Nobel Marcasote and PCMS Rene Costas, both assigned at the Silay City Police Station, were conferred with the Medalya ng Papuri for Police Operation 5-Minute Response.
Their swift and decisive action in responding to an alleged theft within just 4 seconds, well within the framework of the 5-minute response policy mandated by the Chief PNP, demonstrated outstanding alertness, readiness, and dedication to duty, according to PLt. Col. Joem Malong, PRO-NIR Public Information Office chief.
The awards were distributed by PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, regional director of PRO-NIR, and received by the respective unit heads, reflecting the outstanding performance of the units in delivering public safety and timely assistance to the community.
This commendation serves as a testament to the steadfast dedication and resilience of PRO NIR personnel, not only those engaged in frontline operations but also those diligently performing vital administrative duties, Malong said.*
