Kabankalan City is set to inaugurate the first-ever Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Western Visayas on August 28.
Located in Sto. Overflow, Barangay Hilamonan, the TRA is a collaborative project between the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), aimed at providing a safe, clean, and convenient stopover for travelers.
It is designed to boost tourism and economic activity in the region by offering amenities such as clean restrooms, a lounge, charging stations, and a Pasalubong Center.
The DOT Secretary Christina Frasco is expected to attend the opening of the new facility.
The Kabankalan TRA is part of a nationwide initiative by the DOT to enhance the travel experience for both local and foreign tourists.
Meanwhile, tourists will soon have direct access to the cities of Kabankalan, and other key destinations in the 6th District as completion of the Kabankalan City Domestic Airport is ongoing.*
