ILOILO CITY – About a hundred travel content creators from all over the Philippines are expected to help promote Western Visayas as a local tourist destination through a program initiated by 2Go Travel dubbed the 2GOKada.
The 2GOKada Creators Cruise covering May 20 to 23 is a campaign that champions tourism via sea travel in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to encourage young travelers to explore the wonders of the Philippines and invite their followers to discover the country themselves.
Blessie Cruz, 2GO AVP/ Group head of Marketing, said there are more than 7,000 islands in the Philippines and they want these content creators to focus on Western Visayas because she believes that it has many “hidden gems” that need to be discovered, firstly by Filipinos.
“So, we are hoping that through this program, we will be able to help in getting more awareness and wider reach for Western Visayas as a local tourist destination,” Cruz said.
This 3-day cruise-like experience, which include workshops, activities and a concert on board M/V 2Go Masagana, will be making its way to Iloilo and Bacolod for a stopover tour, showcasing a few of the major tourists spots in Western Visayas as part of the activity highlights.
Apart from DOT, 2GO Travel also partners with Careless Music, an independent record label that manages up and coming artists from around the country, to perform and TikTok Philippines, short-form mobile video social media platform, to sponsor a workshop during the 2GOKada Creators Cruise.
Joining the cruise-ender party on May 23 are DJ Daxx and Jasper Tiongson, multi-media host, singer-songwriter, and content creator.
Content creator Shayne Funcion encouraged Filipinos to travel local first since there are still so many underrated or undiscovered places in the Philippines. In this way, they can also help the local people.
To encourage more travels within the Philippines, 2GO Travel is having a P99 Sea Sale, inclusive of 50 kilo baggage allowance on April 27 to May 2 for travels between June 1 to July 18.*
