A truck driver and his helper were yesterday reported by the police to have died of electrocution at Purok Kalong Kalong diversion road in Brgy. Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The two victims, identified by the police as Eddie Dejito, a 49-year-old truck driver, and his helper, Ronnie Antojado, 26, were declared dead on arrival at the Sagay City District Hospital.
Initial police investigations showed that the trailer truck of Dejito accidentally sideswiped an electrical post of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative.
Upon disembarking from the truck to check the damage, both were electrocuted.
The incident is still being investigated by the Cadiz City police.*
