A delivery truck fell into a ravine on Monday at Purok Talos in Brgy. Pandanon, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, resulting in injuries to its seven passengers.

Injured were Robwel Barrientos, Diego Trinidad, Marilyn Cosme, Mark Anthony Trinidad, and Junjun Cruz, all residents of Occidental Mindoro, as well as Third and Salvar Moncatar, both residents of Bacolod City.

Initial police investigations showed that an Isuzo Forward Truck, loaded with seven tons of onions, was on its way to San Carlos City, from Bacolod City, when it suffered an apparent brake malfunction, hit a highway barrier, and fell into a 20-foot ravine.

PMaj. Eugene Tolentino, Salvador Benedicto police chief, disclosed that the victims, who were rescued from the site of the incident, were immediately rushed by rescuers to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Hospital, for treatment.

Tolentino disclosed that three of the seven victims suffered serious injuries.*
