Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya has established a Technical Working Group to conduct a formal review of a proposed amendment to the Bacolod Asenso Yuhum Housing Program.
Mayor Greg Gasataya confirmed that the TWG is currently conducting a comprehensive review of the development, citing the need to consider a wide range of technical and legal factors.
The mayor noted that because the project is governed by a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA), the authority to approve any formal amendments rests with the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
The group is chaired by the Bacolod Housing Authority and includes a team from the City Legal Office, the Office of the Building Official, and the City Engineer’s Office, supported by financial and engineering consultants.
The report will serve as the primary guide for the city’s official position and will facilitate the necessary referrals to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for legislative consideration.
Meanwhile, Bacolod Lone District Representative Alfredo Abelardo Benitez announced that the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), a government agency under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), will take over the construction of the 17 buildings originally included in the project scope.
Benitez said that the arrangement has already been approved by the DHSUD.*
