Two dengue fatalities in Bacolod

The Bacolod City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (BCESU) recorded a total of 159 dengue cases in Bacolod City, with two deaths, for the period covering May 13 to June 3.

The two fatalities are a 9-year-old girl from Barangay Villamonte and a 6-year-old girl from Brgy. Tangub.

The BCESU reported that the age range of affected individuals is between 9 months old to 66 years old, while the case fatality rate is 1.3 percent.

The most commonly noted mosquito breeding places are: water in uncovered containers or bottles, inside and outside homes.

Meanwhile, the BCESU also reported a total of 180 suspected Hand-Foot-Mouth disease cases in Bacolod City, covering the same period.

Out of the 180 suspected cases, 85 were male and 95 female.*
