Two police personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office were found positive for the use of illegal drugs in separate random drug tests conducted by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 6, regional spokesperson, Lt. Col. Joem Malong, said.
Malong said the police staff sergeant assigned at the Escalante City Police Station and the other a patrolman with the Binalbagan PS, were immediately disarmed, relieved, and reassigned to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the NOCPPO.
Both non-commissioned police officers were given 15 days to challenge the results of the drug test, she added. Malong said PNP personnel reconfirmed positive for illegal drug use will face charges for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer, and will be dismissed from the police service.*
