Authorities documented two separate road rage incidents in Talisay City and Binalbagan town, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, that ended in stabbing attacks.
In Talisay City, a pedicab driver sustained serious injuries after being stabbed by two suspects amid a road rage altercation at Hacienda Cabanbanan Osmeña, Barangay Zone 12-A.
The victim, identified as ‘Binsoy,’ 26, a resident of the area, was reportedly standing by the roadside when the incident occurred. Initial investigations revealed that the suspects, alias ‘Nanoy,’ 31 and ‘R-Boy,’ 27, both laborers, were passing by on board a tricycle en route to work.
Allegedly, the victim struck ‘Nanoy’ with a piece of bamboo, hitting him on the back. Upon witnessing the incident, ‘R-Boy’ retaliated for his companion by hitting the victim with a shovel that he was holding.
‘Nanoy’ then reportedly pulled a bolo from the victim’s waist and stabbed him in the stomach.
The victim was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for medical treatment. The suspects were later apprehended and are now in the custody of Talisay City Police Station for proper disposition.
In Binalbagan, another road rage incident resulted in a construction worker being injured during a heated confrontation at Sitio Tap-ok, Barangay Enclaro.
According to investigations, the altercation involved the suspect, alias ‘Brutos,’ 45, and a 33-year-old construction worker, both riding tricycles from opposite directions on a one-way road.
When both parties refused to give way, the suspect became irked, retrieving a screwdriver and stabbing the victim multiple times, hitting him in the left shoulder, left underarm, and forehead.
The victim sustained multiple serious wounds and was rushed to Binalbagan Infirmary for treatment. The suspect was arrested during a pursuit operation conducted by Binalbagan Municipal Police Station.*
