The two persons believed to be “salvage victims”, whose bodies were found August 27 at Purok Mainuswagon in Brgy. Atipuluan, Bago City, Negros Occidental, have already been identified by the police.

Maj. John Joel Batusbatusan, acting Bago City police chief, yesterday identified the two victims as Cristo Rey Genolos, 30, of Brgy. 35, and Ruben Cardeñas, 28, of Brgy. Villamonte, all in Bacolod City.

Batusbatusan said that Genolos was positively identified by his wife, who went to the Bago City Police Station, while the cadaver of Cardeñas was claimed by his parents at a funeral parlor also in Bago City.

He said that both victims were hogtied and succumbed to multiple injuries.

But Batusbatusan said that SOCO (Scene Of the Crime Operatives) members are still establishing if the injuries of the victims were caused by stabbing or shooting

Three live ammunition of an M-16 armalite rifle and a note written on a cardboard saying “Di Pagparisi Drug Pusher KoYa” (Don’t emulate me, I am a drug pusher) were recovered by the Bago City police at the crime scene.*
