Authorities are calling on the public to help identify two sets of skeletal remains discovered in separate locations across Negros Occidental on February 21.
The skeletal remains of an unidentified individual were found in Hacienda Lillia, Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla, at approximately 2:10 p.m.
Reports said that the remains may be a casualty of the Typhoon Tino that hit the province last November 2025.
While the identity remains unknown, investigators recovered a necklace from the scene.
Families with missing relatives are urged to contact the municipal police to verify the recovered item.
Earlier that morning, at about 10 a.m., another set of remains was discovered in a field at Simon Peter Village, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Bacolod City Police Office Station 7 reported that the victim was found by a caretaker.
The deceased was wearing a black t-shirt with the print ‘Beach Please,’ black shorts, and sky-blue slippers with orange straps.
The decomposing body was discovered by sugarcane cutters working in the plantation.
Forensic estimates suggest the individual had been dead for three to four weeks. No matching missing persons reports have been filed at the local station.*
