The 2,605 typhoon-affected residents of Isabela, Negros Occidental, yesterday received help from the provincial government in terms of relief assistance, such as roofing materials, food packs and bed mattresses.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, assisted by Mayor Irene Montilla, Board Member Rita Gatuslao and Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, in the series of distribution of relief assistance in the town población, Brgys. Tinongan and Camp Clark, said that a total of P11 million worth of aid was given to the recipients.
Isabela was also among the areas in southern Negros hit by Typhoon Odette in December 16 last year.
Lacson also turned over 170 computer printers to teachers in Isabela and 184 more printers to teachers in La Castellana.
Except for Kabankalan City, the provincial government already extended relief assistance to typhoon victims in Hinobaan, Sipalay City, Ilog, Candoni and Cauayan, in the 6th district of Negros Occidental.
Lacson is also set to distribute P91 million in housing assistance of the National Housing Authority to the provincial government in other areas of the province also affected by the typhoon.*
