Boat trips between Negros Occidental, Iloilo and Cebu provinces were cancelled yesterday due to rough seas, while classes at all levels today in Hinobaan town, have been suspended by Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias Jr.
Based on the advisory issued by the Philippine Coast Guard, cancelled were boat trips from Estancia in Iloilo to Sagay City, and vice versa; Bantayan, Cebu to Cadiz City, Negros Occidental; BREDCO Port in Bacolod City to Iloilo City and Dumangas in Iloilo.
The San Carlos City Disaster Risk Reduction Center activated Code Yellow over the City as they anticipate possible weather-related hazards brought by super typhoon Betty.
Code Yellow means heavy rainfall of 7.5 to 15 mm in an hour, which is observed and expected to last two hours.

Typhoon Betty has slightly weakened and is now moving west northwestward over the Philippine Sea east of northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA said it may be downgraded to Severe Tropical Storm category on Thursday.*
