The United Negros Basketball League 25-Under Basketball Tournament will commence on April 22, at the Luis T. Ong Sports Pavilion or the St. John’s Institute Ayala Gym.
Eight teams with players born on 1998 and later will be vying for the inaugural title. The participating teams are Royal Star Trading, JSY Transport, University of St. La Salle, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Davies Paint Philippines, Visayan Maritime Academy.
A short opening ceremony will start 12:30 p.m. and will be immediately followed by a quadruple header starting at 1 p.m.
The tournament format will be single round robin, with the top four teams advancing to the playoff round.
Games will be played every Saturday and Sunday. The main venue is the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Gym, with some games to be played at the SJI Ayala Gym.
This is the 2nd tournament sponsored by the UNBL this year after the successful staging of the UNBL Aspirants Basketball Cup, which drew 16 teams last February and March, 2023. Updates are available at the United Negros Basketball League Facebook page.*
