A three-man art exhibit, featuring the works of seasoned Negrense artists Rodney Martinez,  Ernie Claud, and Nunelucio Alvarado, is ongoing at the Sason Shop, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, until November 15.

The three full-time artists titled their show “Unongay,” which is reflective of their friendship in the Art Association of Bacolod (now AAB-Negros), that spans more than 46 years. AABN will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.

Alvarado and Martinez, both multi-awarded artists, are past presidents of AAB, and the latter is also a founding member of the art group that was established by Edgardo “Budot” Lizares in 1975.

The masterpieces on display at Sason Shop are rendered in colorful abstract, cubism, expressionism styles, which include the “Nawong Series” of Alvarado, who at 74, still paints despite the challenges of overcoming dementia.*
