Kabankalan City Mayor Benjie Miranda announced on Saturday, December 27, that the city government will grant cash bonuses of up to P100,000 to its employees.
In his announcement, Miranda said that permanent and casual employees will each receive a P75,000 Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) bonus. This incentive aims to recognize, acknowledge, and reward productive, creative, innovative, and ethical behavior among employees through both formal and informal channels. The bonus is granted in accordance with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Resolution No. 010112.
Additionally, these employees will also receive a Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) of P5,000 and a Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) of P20,000.
For Job Order (JO) workers, the city plans to distribute incentives of up to P17,000 each, comprising a P10,000 bonus from the city and a P7,000 Gratuity Pay.
P2.4B 2026 BUDGET INKED
Meanwhile, the city government of Kabankalan formally conducted the ceremonial signing of its P2.4 billion annual general fund budget for calendar year 2026 on December 26, held at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) session hall.
The approved budget will serve as the city’s primary financial framework for the upcoming year, directing funds toward essential programs, public services, and priority projects to sustain growth and foster overall development.
Mayor Miranda expressed his gratitude to the city council for their strong support and collaborative effort in the timely approval of the budget.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson had earlier urged all local government units (LGUs) in the province to approve their annual budgets before the end of the year.
Lacson emphasized that approving budgets ahead of the new year would give the entire province a “fresh start.”*
