The University of St. La Salle switched on its Christmas tree and lights during the symbolic Institutional Christmas Lighting Ceremony held at the Handumanan Park on November 28, signaling the beginning of the Christmas festivities on campus.

The Center for Lasallian Ministries kicked off the event with a solemn prayer service while University President and Chancellor Br. Joaquin Severino Martinez FSC, DMin together with University administrators led the switch-on ceremony.

In his inspirational message to the community, the Brother President highlighted that “all kinds of darkness do not match to the faith and trust that we have in God.”

The University’s Institutional Events Committee also launched during the ceremony the theme for this year’s Christmas celebration as “Dream Forward: University of St. La Salle Better Together this Christmas” and the 2022 Christmas theme song, “Christmas Makes Us Better Together.”

The Christmas theme calls for every Lasallian to come together and heed the call to build new paths and to transform lives.

A Christmas Special by the Artist’s Hub then took place which featured performances from Ritmo Verde, De La Salle Chorale, Jean Baptiste Dance Company, Musikat, and the Masskara Theatre Ensemble.

Among the Christmas activities lined up at USLS include the Project Free Graduation Rites on Dec. 9; Special Honoring Rites for Batch 70 and 71 on Dec. 2; Halad Kay Maria – Gift Giving on Dec. 8.

The University will also hold Aguinaldo Masses at the Montelibano Chapel every 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 16 to 24.*
