Vaccination center opens in Hua Ming

Mayor Evelio Leonardia visited the “Operation Bakuna Center” of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry at the St. John’s Institute (Hua Ming) in Bacolod City yesterday.

Leonardia was welcomed by Edgar Sy and Mark Gomez, president and vice president of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber, respectively, Clifford Uy – executive vice president of Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber, Alfredo Barcelona – former president of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber, Roger Yap – chairman of Negros Amity Club;

William Ong – president of the Northern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber, Alfonso Cu – president of the Southern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber, Lucio Chua – past president of the Southern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber, John Yap – board member of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Crispin Chua – corporate secretary of Amity Club and chair of the Fire Brigade Committee, and Dennis Coo and Marigold Ponce, both trustees of St. John’s Institute, a press release from the city said.

The vaccination program of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese community was facilitated by the Southern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Northern Negros Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They ordered 1,054 doses of Sinovac vaccine for their employees.

The vaccination program started Monday and will run until July 16, in coordination with the Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital, with Dr. Neifertiti Bayona-Gosiengfiao, director of the Business Development Center of the hospital.

Meanwhile, a team from the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development, led by its newly-installed regional director, Adriano Suba-an, visited the molecular laboratories of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City and the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.*
