
The Fil-Sino 1st Bacolod Truckers Basketball Cup continued with Vee Rubber defeating Ceat Tyres, 65-56. The latter jumped out to an early four-point lead in the first quarter, and the Vee Rubber were unable to bounce back in the second quarter, held to only 6 points as they entered halftime with a double digit deficit, 43-25.
It was a nip and tuck affair in the third quarter in favor of Vee Rubber, as they outscored their rivals by 1 point. Ceat got their revenge in the final frame and held Vee Rubber to just 6 points, however their run was not enough to complete a comeback.
Brian Solinap led Vee Rubber Performing Tires with 21 points and player of the game honors. Joshua Vidal added 14 points, while Rodolfo Sabio chipped in 10 points. Doc Emil Guanzon and Doc Judah Gozar led Ceat Tires with 11 points apiece, while Mark Yee had 10 points.
The other game was between Emtrac Plus and Duramaxx, where the former held the lead for the first two quarters, outscoring the latter on a low scoring first half 16-6 and 16-10, to lead by 16 points shortly after the half.
Duramaxx played better in the second half, outscoring Emtrac Plus in the last 20 minutes but were unable to establish a lead as Clarence Quingco sizzled and matched their performance bucket for bucket. The game ended with a final score 64-58, in favor of Emtrac Plus.
Clarence Quingco had his best performance so far, leading Emtrac with 28 points and grabbing the player of the game honors. Alton Muyco had 13 while Arvin Chua and Brian Tan added 11 and 10 points respectively. Carl Ginete led Duramaxx with 17 points, followed by Mico Yee’s 15 points.*
