Victorias City General Hospital approved by House

The House of Representatives, on August 9 approved on third and final reading the bill seeking the creation of a General Hospital in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

With its approval in the House of Representatives, Third District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez, who sponsored House Bill 8492 that calls for the establishment of a P500 million Victorias City General Hospital, said he is hoping that the Senate passes the same measure soon.

The Victorias City General Hospital, according to HB 8492, will provide Victoriahanons and nearby residents of the Third District wider access to affordable and quality healthcare, and most importantly help save lives in times of medical emergencies.

With the approval of the House Bill, Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez disclosed that the City Government will formulate a Hospital Development Plan to coordinate with the Inter-Local Health Zone District and the provincial government of Negros Occidental.*
